She's captured the hearts of my audience and stirs much of my engagement, as I try to creatively execute everyone's newest idea for Lucy. One look did 24.6k likes and 829 shares with 894 engaging comments, and a recent Lucy video is past 200,000 views and still climbing.
If you did not grow up in the midwest this needs explaining. Concrete geese have stood on porches across Indiana, Ohio and Michigan for decades, and dressing them is an ordinary thing that ordinary people do. Lucy is that tradition, taken further than is strictly reasonable.

Why a goose, of all things
I did not plan this. Lucy was on the porch because geese are on porches where I am from, and she ended up in the background of a video that was about something else entirely. The comments were not about the something else. They were about the goose.
That is the useful part of the story for anyone trying to work out what makes an account travel. The thing people latch onto is almost never the thing you carefully produced. It is the small specific detail that could only have come from your house.
What she wears
The costumes follow the calendar. Flannel and something small and orange once the leaves turn. A full Santa arrangement in December, which the rest of the porch then gets decorated around rather than the other way round. Local colors when there is a game worth acknowledging. And a stretch in the middle of the year where she wears nothing at all and seems fine about it.
